Electric bicycles have the potential to revolutionaize the way we get around. They are much cheaper then a car, fast, safe, and produce very little carbon emissions if at all. In 2020, Germany sold more electric bicycles then all of Europe sold electic cars and soon Europe is projected to sell more electric bicycles then both gas and electric cars combined. Finding ways for the benefits of this new technology to be shared evenly is crucial to the future of transportation justice.

A 2018 survey of e-bike users for the National Institute of Transportation and Communities found that 70% of them identify as male, 63% had a college degree or higher, and 71% were already in good health. The same survey also found that daily and weekly bicycling use went up from 59% to 91% when people made the swtich to electric bikes.
